Highlights
  • Khor Virap - Although there are various historical landmarks in Armenia, the oldest and most well-known is probably the Biblical Mount Ararat. This is why our tour promises a spectacular view from the closest spot possible.

Khor Virap monastery is located about an hour’s drive away from the capital Yerevan, and offers an amazing view of Armenia’s defining symbol

  • the majestic Ararat.

“Khor Virap” translates as “deep dungeon”, and was built of the place of the former royal prison, located on the historical site of Artashat. It was this prison in which they kept Gregory the Illuminator, the first Armenian Catholicos, for a whole 13 years. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that this place is one of the most sacred spots for Armenians around the world. Likewise, it’s also the closest point to the Mount Ararat from Armenia; very often this spot becomes the number 1 reason to visit our country!

Great Day in Southern Armenia - I was simply amazed how beautiful Southern Armenia is. The stops were spaced out evenly and plenty of time was given at each. I learned a lot today of the history of Armenia and would recommend this tour to all!

Fabulous Tour at a Fantastic Price. - This tour was one of the best small group tours we have ever taken. The sites were breathtaking and the background information provided by our tour guide, Hasmik, was educational, informative, and extremely interesting. The full day tour was incredible at an extremely reasonable price.

Beautiful Landscapes of Armenia - My friends and I took this tour to see the landscapes of Armenia outside Yerevan, and it did not disappoint! Hazmik, our tour guide, led us to Khor Virap, Areni Cave, Noravank Monastery, and Ar Areni Winery. We had a magnificent and clear view of Mt. Ararat on the way to Khor Virap, but the clouds partially blocked the mountain by the time we got there...boo! My favorite part was the beautiful, rocky valley surrounding Noravank Monastery. I highly recommend this tour, and kudos to Hazmik for her insights and knowledge!

Excellent excursion with wine tasting from endemic grape varieties - An excellent excursion, the guide Jasmine was detailed and very interesting. Armenia is beautiful! Extraordinary beauty! On the way back there was a wine tasting made from grape varieties growing in Areni. Thanks to the organizers, I recommend Yerani Travel, we took 2 excursions from them, both were organized flawlessly.

An unforgettable day with a little secret at the end of the review. - I came from Lebanon to explore Armenia my homeland and understand the culture as well the people. I have been to different tours with different groups, however this day was unforgettable because of many points and I would like to share them with you. Our day started early morning we gathered and head towards the most magical place in Yerevan. The tour was more than informative I have learnt a lot with the tour guide. 1st stop was in Khor Virap: it was so sentimental looking to the church wall were Armenian people engraved their name on Ohhh and the view Magicall... 2nd stop was Areni Cave: Here i felt proud because the very first shoe was found in there and I traveled back in time imagining how the people lived and managed everything. 3rd stop was Noravank: Well Noravank and its peaceful location with all the positive energy. We then went to eat before our last stop: to be honest the restaurant was not to my expectation and the food was not that good. 4th and last stop before we head to Yerevan we stopped at the winery: A winery nothing like the others, different and unique in many aspects, this winery was where I felt like I'm home and I am welcomed by the people the hosts were supper kind with us, taking into consideration the language barrier they took their time explaining all the steps and how the wine is made. We did the tasting of different types of wine wines that i have never thought I would taste in my life, I tasted the earth the grapes the nature the sun of Yerevan all was in one cup. I have asked the owner what's the main ingredient he told me (to succeed in anything in life it should be made with love, passion and care and that is their little secret) I would highly recommend you to go to this trip and always choose Yerani Travel...

Interesting tour into the history of Armenia. - Another lovely excursion from Yerevan. Our guide Nera was always friendly and knowledgeable and gave us information. I was particularly impressed by the detailed information on the history of Armenia and the problems it has caused today.
