Wadi rum village to your cave in burrah canyon

Wadi Rum Protected Area - DAY 1

On our way out of the village we will enter the rakabat canyon. Two hours are needed to cross this famous canyon shaped by the rains and winds over the centuries. On the way out of the canyon, we will cross the valley of the red dunes and enjoy a very different landscape. Once we get around the “jebels”, rocky massif characteristic of wadi rum. We will arrive at the entrance of Burrah canyon. Here we will set up our camp for the night.

Wadi Rum Protected Area - EVENING

Once the first day is over, we will spend the night in the shelter of the rock walls with the stars, a traditional Bedouin meal and stories as our only company.

The main course of the meal called “zarp” is a Bedouin tradition. The dish consists of vegetables on the firts floor and chicken on the second. While in the desert it is necessary to respect the nature surrounding us, the dish is cooked for two hours in a deep hole in the sand and closed under a metal tablecloth.

For the night take care to take with you warm clothes because often the nights in the desert can be coold even if a fire will be there to warm you up and open the discussion.

We provide mattresses, pillows and blankets to sleep under the stars. Jerry cans are provided with water for hand/face washing. As we are camping in the protected area away from camps there are no toilet facilities or wifi available during this experience.

Additional Information

Off the beaten track and out of the hard camps, come and live a unique experience.

The best way to appreciate the beauty of the Wadi Rum desert. A desert that was millions of years ago submerged by the sea. A desert where poetry ricochets between the cliffs like the sound of stones or sand rising up.

The Bedouin tradition, which persists in this desert from century to century, is inscribed through nomadic life. This tour will allow you to immerse yourself in the history of these canyons and hidden trails with a local guide.

You will discover why Wadi Rum is divided into two deserts, what are the so-called mushroom rocks, what is the meaning of the Petroglyphs engraved by the Nabateans who had already started to tame this desert 13 centuries before us.

Far away from all of the non natural light, the cave experience is the best way to enjoy the colors of the sun set and sun rise. From our caves we will be able to see a sky full of stars and the milky way.

Great experience under the stars - The hike was definitely worth it! Seeing the stars from a cave was so great. Eid was a perfect example of the Bedouin hospitality. The lunch and the tea was great. Eid showed me his wonderful culture. Very good time. If you come to Wadi Rum you should definitely do it.
