Magnificent tour of Uyuni and much more! - This trip was the most challenging for me since I usually get altitude sickness. But the tour company did a great job of assuring me that they had oxygen ready if needed. I was more than thrilled with our guide, Paola and driver, Elmer. They made the trip informative and fun. We saw everything imaginable. from the Salt flats, cacti, to Laguna Colorada. The stays were good. I didn't expect fine dining in the desert! My husband and I had special attention on our private tour and the guide was patient answering all of our questions. She was superb and the driver was professional! Great job. I do suggest calling the guides for correct schedules as it might not coincide with the online itinerary. And the agent, Kevin was most accommodating and knowledgable answering my questions about this tour. I was so happy that I booked another tour for Lake Titicaca.

It was a dream come true - I signed with another agency that advised me to take the tour with this one. It was 3 great days, 2 comfortable accommodations, all great meals. Wonderful guide, attentive driver.

Book the 3day tour! - Our guide Daniel was a great guide, he gave much information about every stop, he was helpful and had great ideas to take picture on the salt flats! We had a great driver and made amazing stops along the way. Would definitely recommend!

An experience with ups and downs - at your own risk! - The trip was an experience with ups and downs! We booked the bus transfer from La Paz and Todo Turismo is an excellent bus company. Unexpectedly, the travel agency picked us up from the bus station with the information that there were also free drinks in the office, just like at Todo Turismo. Instead we were taken to a restaurant, where we of course had to pay ourselves. Shortly before the trip, our guide Danielle asked us if we had booked our bus tickets from the border to San Pedro in Chile. Short panic, of course the agency should do that for us. It did too, only our guide knew little about it or about the stargazing tour we had booked. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to rent rubber boots because there was no space in the car, but we would have needed them for the stargazing tour so that our feet wouldn't freeze off. It started with a stop at a workshop because the hood was broken and had to be temporarily attached. Our guide only gave us the most necessary information and generally seemed rather bored and had little interest. We were allowed to rotate places in the car and the stops and nature itself were great! Unfortunately we didn't wait until sunrise at the geysers, which was a real shame. The accommodations were better than expected and the food was very good and varied. The driver was responsible for providing the food, loading the luggage and generally having the most responsibility. Our driver Renaldo did a very, very good job! He also knew about the stargazing tour. However, there was a storm and there were no stars. We still had to pay, irresponsibly they would have let us drive into the wet salt lake during a thunderstorm - but we didn't want that. A tour like this depends on the guide, he could and should have put in a lot more effort - other tours were much more fun. But the nature and the driver are definitely recommended!

Great tour but terrible guide - The locations on this tour are spectacular and photos do not do justice to the beauty of the Salt flats. Sunset on the Salt flats lakes is out of this world. The reason for 3 instead of 5 was the tour guide. He was lazy, unhelpful, disorganized, made me feel uncomfortable at times and did not communicate with us as a group. When he did communicate, we were often more confused than informed. The bare minimum of his job was too much to ask it seems. The driver was an elderly man who only spoke Spanish but he was beautiful. Had a great energy, always smiling always friendly, and was so excited to show us the flamingos which was adorable. He was always helpful and the hardest working man in Bolivia. If he spoke English we could have replaced the tour guide entirely. Be prepared for any food allergy requirements to be ignored and spending long hours in a hot jeep with no air con.

Stunning nature viewed from the "dog bench" row of under-maintained Land Cruiser - Hello! My husband and I did this tour in the end of September, and I wanted to note a few positive things and things that could be improved. Positive: - Excellent driver (I would give him 5 stars!) - Good food throughout the trip - Decent accommodation (it's very basic, but better than we expected) Things that could be improved: - The cars. 7 people travelling in one car (Toyota Land Cruiser) through the dry desert with no A/C, when you can't even open the windows due to dust clouds outside is not acceptable in our opinion. Third "dog bench" row is not appropriate for people travelling long distances in this car. In our group, we were rotating for the third row, but really it should not have been used for people at all. On the way back, I nearly fainted sitting there as it was extremely hot there in the back and we couldn't open mid-row or front windows due to dusty roads outside (and in the back the windows don't open at all and the fan wasn't working!). Not to mention that this row is not suitable for taller people like my husband who had to sit with his elbow on the knees. - Another thing that was really disappointing: on the way back, which was the longest car-ride during the trip, the second car was returning empty after dropping off people at the Chilean border. It stopped at the same spot as we did for lunch, and then left without taking any people from our full-packed car. For me this was a terrible drive back due to above-mentioned reasons, and splitting people between cars would have helped significantly; however, they didn't consider people comfort given all the conditions. For Perla de Bolivia: please take action in regards to your cars maintenance and reconsider amount of people in one car, otherwise I would not recommend booking this trip to anyone.

Salt flat tour - We did the 3D 2N salt flat tour. The first day was incredible on the salt flats. Our guide was really friendly and helpful. Although by the second night I started to feel very unwell , fever, vomiting and diarrhoea. It turns out a lot of the people on the tour had the same problem. My boyfriend then got sick a few hours after me. We got struck down with the worst food poisoning that ruined the last day of the tour for us we couldn’t see a thing. We are still sick a week later, improved but not better. I really advise to bring your own food and avoid the food on the trip. I do think the company should take responsibility though because we paid a lot of money for this tour and standards should be better. I’ve never had food poisoning before and I never want to again!! 🤢

Flat Ambassador never again: Bruno is to blame for everything. - I was even surprised by my last stay at Flat Ambassador. I made the trip in advance. When we got there, they put us in a small apartment. On Sunday we moved to a bigger one, however there were a lot of mosquitoes and soon after dengue arrived. I was surprised because there were many children in the hotel. There are good employees, but some with no training at all. Except for Hamilton, the night waiter, and some other employees, including the valet. Flat Ambassador never again.

Recommend the nature - not the tour - The tour was overall okay. The landscape was really amazing, thats why I give 2 stars. You get to see many amazing places and animals. Guide spoke good english. However the food was horrible. Me and some other people (all vegetarians) got food poisoning! The food was always cold and dry. Safe driving is not always the case. We had two overtakes which easily could have lead to accidents. One of them let us fell of the street nearly on meter down next to the road and even driver and guide were surprised for a second. Seatbelts are not accessible on all seats. Some minor things not relevant to the rating but maybe interessting for other people. - Tour start is at 10:30 but its very chaotic and may be delayed - Cars are small if fully used (max. 6 people + driver) - After tour start several stops to load food and other stuff (not sure why this is not done before since the tour start is quite late) - You can buy water at most stops (12-15 BOB/ 2 liters) - Toilet facilities are poor (as expected) but on most stops available (2-5 BOB) - Sleeping bag is not necessary if you do not freeze easily at night (accomodations have 3+ blankets) - Last day of the tour is mostly driving with just 2 interesting stops if you don't go to Chile - All your luggage must be on your knees or on the roof of the car (and can only be accessed in the evening) - I'd wish the guide would have told us not to feed and touch the wildlife. A lot in our group did and I don't think crackers are good for chinchillas. - There will always be music in the car - It will be very bumpy driving with 60 km/h on these roads - AC in the cars is not working. Not possible to open windows when it's dusty sometimes. Make sure to wear layers of clothes you can easily take off in car and take on when leaving the car.
