Additional Information
Embark on a thrilling small-group hiking adventure and witness the untamed beauty of Tromsø’s Arctic wilderness on foot. You’ll be transported to the rural areas of Tromsø, nestled among breathtaking mountains, fjords, and valleys, where you and your team will snowshoe up a petite mountain or traverse a valley under the guidance of a seasoned trekker. During the journey, you’ll be equipped with snowshoes, which facilitate and enliven the snowy walk.
During the fall season and late spring when there is scarce snow, the excursion becomes a regular hiking tour without the need for snowshoes.
- Please note that the following information is important for us to assure the best service
- We encourage you to provide us with your email address to be able to send you the pictures after the tour
- When exceptional situations arise (e.g. weather cancellations) it is important to reach you. This is easiest if you provide your contact on the road (phone number + correct country code)
- Winter equipment is included, please give us your clothing and shoe sizes
- The place where you will be staying at (Hotel, Air BnB or other)
- Please advise any specific dietary requirements at time of booking as well as medical condition if needed
- Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately. Make sure you wear warm and water resistant clothes and have an extra layer with you and shoes/boots that are suitable for hiking
- It is recommended that you bring a bottle of water with you (0,5 liters shoud be enough)
- Activity is in English
- Please be prepared for limited toilet facilities, there will be a gas station stop during the drive, however the camp itself is in the wild Arctic nature where the only toilet possibilities are in the forest (there are no pre-built facilities)
- Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if less than 2 passengers per tours. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund
- Please arrive 15 minutes early, the guide must depart at 10am.

Showshoeing with Henrik - Henrik, our guide, made sure we all had a great time. He made sure everyone was safe and comfortable and kept us going with his wit :D
The trek itself, was super cool, not too hard but just the right amount of adventure, especially for someone who is showshoeing for the first time. The view from the top of the hill, overlooking the fjords was just breathtaking! We even did the slide down from a snowy hill which was absolutely thrilling. Oh and not to forget the delicious hot chocolate, cookies and baguette we had for lunch! All hearts! Thanks a lot for the wonderful experience <3

Fun experience - We had an amazing day in perfect weather with oviously experienced and well prepared guide Hendrik who is very talkative and provided lot of information and tips around Tromsø and Norway. It was quite easy for everyone to walk with snowshoes after short instructions. The lunch picknick with hot chocolate, tea or coffee was provided at the top of the hill with amazing views. Going down it was also possible to sled as optional additional fun. Altogether a very successful half day trip.

A bluebird day on snow shoes - We had a great day snow shoeing with the Wandering Owls Yevgeny and Armand.

Best way to explore the mountains/ fjords near Tromsø! - My boyfriend and I had the absolute best time snowshoeing on this tour! It was a perfect way to get to see the area around Tromsø, without having to rent a car or snowshoe gear ourselves. Our tour guides were fantastic and we got so lucky with a beautiful sunny day! The tour guides brought us to a stunning view point on top of Nattmålsfjellet on Kvaløya island, we had a lovely 3 hours of snowshoeing, and they took fantastic photos of us throughout the whole tour! They also made sure to split the group based on preferred pace/experience which ensured all on the trip enjoyed the hike. 10/10 would recommend and go again! Nice walk in the mountains - Beautiful snowshoe ride in the mountains above the fjord. Our very friendly guide Hendrix introduced us to a natural place close to Tromso (a short distance by minibus).
This first snowshoe experience will remain a wonderful memory.

An amazing experience for everyone! - This was an amazing experience. We thoroughly enjoyed hiking the mountains and viewing the fjords with Henrick. He was great with our nine year old son and was very good at making sure everyone in our group was having a good time. Also the pictures he took were beautiful. A big thank you to Henrick & Wandering Owl!

Highlight of the Tromsø trip. Yes, would put it above chasing auroras. s. - Henrik and Afghani were amazing. Split the group into two, were motivating and didn't leave anyone behind. Beautiful route! Also took great pictures and left us with happy memories! Weather conditions started sunny and ended in a snow storm-- so really saw all.seasons of Tromsø in a few hours!

As well as providing the equipment needed for the activity, they also offer a delicious snack with hot drinks! I hadn't brought any water for the hike, and they also had Available. I was positively surprised!
