Additional Information

Embark on a journey through the rural landscapes of Rome on a Cannondale E-Bike furnished with puncture-resistant tyres and a cosy seat. Soak in the fresh air and scenic beauty guided by a knowledgeable expert, ensuring utmost cycling safety while traversing the iconic sights of this region—the ancient Appian Way, the impressive Aurelian walls, and the majestic Roman Aqueducts—effortlessly on a superior E-Bike.

Select from a 4.5-hour or a 6-hour tour, aligning with your available time. Both options offer an almost identical route; however, the extended tour features a guided exploration of the Catacombs.

  • Please note that approximately 40% of the route of this tour takes place in the city. We ride carefully chosen city streets, but some traffic is unavoidable to connect the Ancient Appian Way Park to the Aqueducts Park. In the remaining 60% of the route (riding in the parks) we encounter no traffic.
  • You will cover an area of approximately 17 miles (27km), 60% of which takes place off-road. The difficulty level of this tour is intermediate (difficult with a child seat or child extension mounted on the bicycle).
  • Infants under 1 year are not allowed to participate for safety reasons.
  • Infants aged 1-4 years travelling on a child seat (with load capacity of up to 55 lbs or 25 kg) come on the tour free of charge
  • For children aged 5-8 years a child extension (child streamliner) is provided.
  • Children aged 9 and above can autonomously ride on an appropriately sized E-bike.
  • Minimum of 4 participants applies (total number of participants on tour). There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are 3 or less passengers on the tour. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative for your tour or full refund.
  • On Wednesdays, the route includes a deviation, so the tour may last up to half an hour longer (4.5 instead of 4 hours and 6,5 instead of 6 hours). The tours will be 30 minutes longer also in the period January 25 - February 20, 2024
  • On Easter Sunday (March 31st, 2024), the Catacombs are closed (therefore, the 6-hour tour will not be running)
  • This tour doesn’t include any food or drinks; however, the route offers a few possibilities to purchase some food or drinks (which can be consumed during a suitable break).
  • Are the tours safe? The answer is: Absolutely! The tours follow carefully planned routes which have limited access to traffic, and some have no traffic at all, meaning you are able to enjoy your ride around the city in total relaxation and safety and you won’t have to worry about traffic
  • We require that all customers wear a helmet on the tour (provided for free).
  • Activity not recommended for travelers not self-confident on a bike.

The highlight of our visit to Rome - This experience was the highlight of our trip to Rome. To see the quieter, greener parts was a real privilege and a welcome break from the crowded centre. Our guide Klass, was the best guide we’ve had on any tour. He was so knowledgeable and really looked after us. Seeing the turtles in the park was an unexpected bonus. Highly, highly recommend this experience.

Appian Way and Catecomb E-Bike Tour - Our tour guide Alireza was excellent. This trip consists of some city riding with more than half of the trip in or along the Appian way and aqueduct. It was nice to see a different part of Rome than central city. The historical ruins were amazing. This along with the background provided by our guide made this a very interesting and fun trip.

Bike Tour in Rome - Our guide Nima was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and so patient with me and my daughter as we are not experienced riders and this was our first time on e-bikes. We were in a tour of 7 people which is the perfect size, but the rest of the group was definitely more experienced than us, so we did hold them up a few times. The bikes were in great condition and they fitted us for the correct size. The catacombs were interesting but too crowded. The aqueducts were really cool and our guide offered to take pictures at all the good spots. Can’t think Nima enough. Highly recommend this trip as it was a highlight for us in Rome.
