Highlights
  • Thingvellir National Park - Head first to Thingvellir National Park with your guide. It was here, in the year 930, that the Icelandic national parliament was founded. Known locally as Althingi, the institution stands today as the oldest of its kind in the world, but that’s not the only reason it’s such a special place. It is here, in the Thingvellir National Park, that the mighty tectonic plates of North America and Europe meet.
  • Gullfoss Waterfall - Continue on to the impressive Gullfoss waterfall, widely considered to be one of Iceland’s most beautiful sights. Gullfoss is fed by the Hvítá River, which tumbles down dramatically over a series of rocky steps into deep plunge pools below. Marvel at the falls’ power and perhaps take a moment to capture the views on camera.
  • Strokkur - Journey on to the Haukadalur geothermal area, where the hot springs of Geysir and Strokkur await. Discover impressive geothermal features such as bubbling mud pools, and marvel at the Strokkur geyser’s regular eruptions.
  • Golden Circle Route - Iceland’s most popular sightseeing route, where three of the country’s most spectacular natural wonders can be seen on the same trip.

A Journey Through Iceland’s Wonders - My recent Golden Circle Tour in Iceland was an absolute delight! The landscapes were stunning, with highlights like Gullfoss waterfall and the Geysir geothermal area. Our guide provided insightful commentary, enriching the experience with fascinating facts about Iceland's history and culture. Despite the tour's popularity, our guide ensured a personalized touch, engaging us with entertaining stories and making the journey both educational and enjoyable. From tales of Icelandic elves to language quirks and humorous anecdotes, the experience was unforgettable. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Iceland!

Excellent guide & driver - This is a standard tour to book in Iceland lasting approx. 7 hrs (although there are glacier or secret lagoon add ons if required). It takes in the tectonic plate valley & original Icelandic Parliament, then the geysirs and then the beautiful Gullfoss waterfalls. Our trip was raised well above a “standard tour” by the excellent guide Darren and driver Gregor. Darren’s informative, amusing and laid back narrative was superb and Gregor made up for the few minutes lost here and there (by the usual inconsiderate/ ignorant few passengers) and also took a slightly different (if more difficult for him to negotiate) route back to give us a fuller picture of Iceland. It was a good day made into an excellent day.

Waterfalls and more - Our adult family of 5 were lucky enough to visit Iceland in March 2024. None of us had ever been and were looking forward to seeing the country. We booked several tours including the Golden Circle Tour, whale watching, food tour, Fly Over Iceland, etc. Happy to say that Iceland did not disappoint and we all agreed that we would love to come back and see things when they are a lush green. Tour was informative, bus was warm and clean and the guides were funny and kind.

lovely day tour! - We did the Golden Circle tour on a Tuesday. Weather in Reykjavik was dry & cloudy. We travelled through the mountains with snow on the roads & a bit windy. Had a few snow flurries during the day. The trip itself was great. Got to see all the sights. Would recommend the trip, but make sure you wear enough clothes as the weather can be different every half hour! Crampons are helpful too. Always take them just incase. It snowed a lot when we visited the waterfall, bit windy up at the geysir, & very windy at the national park but sunny & icy! All the places visited were great & there are stop offs for toilets & food/drinks. No need to pack food really.

amazing experience on all trips - this trip was amazing and it was made even better with out tour guide Darren and our driver helgi, Darren gave us loads of information and he was really funny, if going to Iceland I'd deffo recommend booking with grayline and hopefully you get these two because you'll definitely have a really good day, we also did the northern lights trip which was amazing, we didn't see them on the 1st trip so out tour guide told us to ring up and grayline said I could either have a refund or book on again, we booked on for that night and we got to see the lights, grayline staff can't do enough for you, im hoping to return again soon and ill definitely be booking with grayline again, also to add they picked us up from the airport aswell, cant praise this company and their staff enough
