Breakfast at Las Palomas
Truly Mexican coast breakfast, just by the Malecon in downtown Vallarta. And big variety of food :)
Malecon Puerto Vallarta
Just walk around the recently renewed Malecon available only for pedestrians. You can rent a bike, scooters, and baby cars. Besides the ocean, there's a lot to see; the new pier with water taxis service, cartoonist, food, and local drinks vendors, art, the popular sand sculptures, musicians, etc. And the popular "Romantic Zone" with low light ambiance at the end of the Malecon, next to a small bridge that connects the Malecon with an the mini Island "Cuale", within the city. You can walk through it and see tequila shops, local craft markets, and a regional museum.
Mi Querencia
Very colorful restaurant with very good Mexican cuisine, and live music.
Vista Marietas
The "Hidden beach" in "Las Marietas"is close to the Puerto Vallarta bay, is a crystal clear beach inside a big dome, which is actually an island. You can get there by boat, there's tours, and water taxis departing from the "Los Muertos" new pier daily.
EL EDEN ecopark
This is a beautiful eco park, and the famous film location of the "Depredator" movie. It has a plenty of green areas, and a nice river with a local seafood restaurant. There's several tours that you can purchase by the Malecon to Eden park daily, with eco-tourism activities like zip lines, rock climbing, etc.
Muelle Los Muertos
Two years ago the city renewed the Malecon, but the mayor proyect was "Los Muertos Pier", with a huge monument to a sailing boat. Its a nice place to walk, read, an excellent spot to take pictures, and a variety of water sports available: jet skis, parasailing, etc. You can also find mariachi music at a very low cost.
La destileria
Have a bistro dinner with amazing view of the Malecon. Great variety of genuine Tequilas, elegant decor, and friendly staff, just in downtown.
la bodeguita del medio
The second most important "Bodeguita" after the mythical "La Bodeguita Del Medio" in Havana. The vibe, true Cuban cuisine and live Cuban salsa will transport you right away to the Caribbean island. There's an large variety of real Cuban cigars, and the most authentic Mojitos you've ever tried in your life. Get ready to see the most amazing salsa dancers, and don't forget to put your name in the wall :)
Hacienda San Miguel Puerto vallarta
Very modern yet colonial restaurant. International gourmet cuisine with breath taking view.
Mandala Club
Everyone in the city knows this is the best place to be seen in Puerto Vallarta. Is popular for the best music, beautiful girls, and they're particularly nice with foreigners. But dress to impress or you're out!, gets packed by the weekends and holidays, so arrive early.
La vaquita
If you're looking for more intense partying you have to show up at "La Vaquita" (the little cow), the club staff does their infamous contest in spring break season, and the DJ plays anything from trance, to Modest Mouse and the international top charts. The decor is cool, and they even have tall bunk beds that you can crash on with your crew and have some drinks deliver to there. Everyone wants to get in so the guys in the entrance get picky no matter who, so be nice and smile.
Club Roxy
If you want do hear local bands try to go to Roxy Club, Puerto Vallarta is very close to the city of Guadalajara, nationally well known for its musical contribution, and very good Rock bands travel frequently to Vallarta to be seen.
