Highlights
  • Quartieri Spagnoli - The Spanish neighborhoods arise in the historic part of the city of Naples, consisting, in turn, of the San Ferdinando, Avvocata and Montecalvario neighborhoods.
The Spanish neighborhoods characterized from an urbanistic point of view by a reticular structure, which descends from the heights dominated by Castel Sant’Elmo. We note the typical vocation of accommodation intended to accommodate the Spanish soldiers. They arise around the sixteenth century by the will of Pedro de Toledo, in order to accommodate the Spanish military garrisons, intended for the repression of any revolts of the Neapolitan population, or as a temporary home for soldiers who passed from Naples in the direction of other places of conflict.

  • Via Toledo - The road starts from Piazza Dante and ends in Piazza Trieste e Trento, in the sequence of the road other important arteries branch off, squares, churches and noble palaces. The street is one of the stops of Neapolitan shopping and cultural life since the sixteenth century.
It was commissioned by the viceroy Pedro \’Alvarez de Toledo in 1536 on a project by the royal architects Ferdinando Manlio and Giovanni Benincasa. The road ran along the old western walls of the Aragonese period that was made obsolete and therefore eliminated due to the defensive extensions of Don Pedro de Toledo.

Great tour - We did the tour with Manuella , she made the tour so interesting, she gave us a real feel for the Neapolitan way of life, told us many stories about the local area and how people lived, she seemed to know people on every corner. It is impossible to learn everything about a place in 2 hours but after this tour we certainly had learnt a lot more about how the Neapolitans tick . Would highly recommend it . Thank you Manuella

Very interesting walk through the Spanish Quarter - I was worried that the tour would be too strenuous for me for health reasons. This fear was completely unfounded. Many thanks to Manuela for a very informative but also very relaxed tour.

Unpresentable - They rescheduled my tour twice, the first time I accepted, although they even changed the language to English, the second time was the day before and at a different time. For that, they cancel it and at least seem more serious
