The church of Gesu’ Nuovo is an exquisite example of the Baroque, from the unique façade faced with diamond-shaped ashlars to the marvellous interiors in marble.

  • Chiesa di Santa Chiara - Located just off Piazza del Gesù on the western end of Centro Storico, Santa Chiara is one of the most beautiful and beloved churches in Naples. The San Domenico Maggiore Square has an important monument at its center. It is an obelisk erected by Dominican monks of San Martino after a plague killed a large portion of the population of Naples in 1656. The statue on top is that of San Domenico di Guzman, the founder of the Dominican order. Other notable buildings flanking the square are the Palazzo Petrucci, the oldest surviving building in Naples, the San Domenico Maggiore church and the adjacent abbey, that was the original seat of the university of Naples and the Palazzo Sangro di Sansevero, the residence of the family of the early scientist and innovator, Raimondo di Sangro, Prince of Sansevero.

  • Spaccanapoli - Spaccanapoli is the straight and narrow main street that traverses the old, historic center of the city of Naples, Italy. The name is a popular usage and means, literally, “Naples splitter”. The name is derived from the fact that it is very long and from above it seems to divide that part of the city.

  • Basilica di San Lorenzo Maggiore - San Lorenzo Maggiore is one of the oldest basilicas in Naples, located on the site of the ancient Greek agora and the Roman forum, on the ancient way decumanus maximus, in the historic center.
Dating back to the 13th century, its interior has retained its Gothic style

Naples on tour - A very interesting visit to a city rich in history and tradition accompanied by Edoardo who guided us with sympathy and preparation into the heart of the city, giving us a description of the places which, in addition to history and culture, also combined popular tradition. Really very beautiful and ideal for enjoying the riches of Neapolitan baroque.

Perfect Short Tour For a Family With Young Kids and Limited Attention Span! - We had a wonderful tour of Naples' historic center and Spaccanapoli. Our guide, Ivan, was very informative and pointed out a number of things that we would have missed on our own, as well as placing many of the sights into a historical context. Highly recommend.
