Additional Information

Located on a hilltop at the heart of Malta, Mdina, the former capital, boasts control over two-thirds of the island. This splendid city is one of the best-preserved ancient fortified cities in Europe, showcasing exquisite medieval and baroque architectural styles. Referred to as the ‘Silent City’ by locals, it is home to several palaces owned by Maltese nobility, most of which serve as guest residences.

As you wander the narrow, twisting streets of Mdina, you’ll be transported back in time. Its majestic palaces, churches, and piazzas make this city one-of-a-kind and a must-visit while in Malta!
Rabat, a neighboring district of Mdina, is another town steeped in history with significant religious associations. It is claimed that during his 3-month stay in Malta, St Paul resided in a cave under the parish church. Follow your guide along the iconic streets of Rabat to get a glimpse of its captivating architectural features.

Great tour, great guide. - Brilliantly informative tour by Angele who brought the history of both Malta and Mdina to life over the course of 2hrs. Beautiful little city that I think you can only really appreciate when you have such a knowledgeable guide to highlight things for you…and who’d have thought that a detailed knowledge of period windows could frame (pun intended) the walk and illustrate how the city has been shaped over the years. Great value and highly recommend.

Visit Mdina - The atmosphere, the architectural richness and the calm in the alleys are very fascinating. Good guide, the program and the choice of historical news but also of telling the story of today's life in borrowing.
