Mafra and Queluz should be on everyone's bucket list - Excellent trip and experience. Gonçalo is an exceptional guide... knows the history, he is patient and curious about everything. His energy never goes lower and he is ready to adapt anything if needed. Knowing Mafra was on my bucket list for a long time and I was right: it's an impressive place and now I understand why Saramago decided to use it in his novel. It's mesmerizing! But I wasn't expecting the fantastic time I had knowing Ericeira and especially Queluz, a beautiful palace. It was a lighter tour, especially doing this on the day after Pena Palace. I 100% recommend doing it and it will be even better if you choose Gonçalo and LusoXperience.

A wonderful day with an enthusiastic young travel guide Gongcalo - Goncalo was positively recommended to us when we were looking for a travel guide in Lisbon four months. Setting up an agreement with him was smooth due to his easygoing and considerate manner. Four months later he showed up at a precise time at our hotel door with a big smile next to a comfortable van. Goncalo was enthusiastic and energetic, he continuously pointed out interesting landmarks outside the windows as we drove to the destination. He was very knowledgeable about the Portugal history, especially the local culture. He told us many interesting stories about the royal families living in the Mafra palace and the monks who resides in another section of the same complex. He pointed out the architectural details of the beautiful palace and related stories. He was very considerate and flexible, giving us time and space when we wanted to focus on special things. He never pushed us to meet his schedule, his English is very fluent and we found no difficulties in communication. He is personable and willing to share his thoughts and views, he told us about his family and life. That was very appreciated because we could see at least a little bit of real people’s life in Lisbon, even as a tourist! We had a wonderful and enjoyable day with Gongsalo as our guide!
