Highlights
  • Mysterious Road (Dokkaebi Road) -
This intriguing location is known as the Jeju Mysterious Road or Dokkaebi Road. It’s famous for an unusual phenomenon where a vehicle placed on what appears to be a downhill slope will seem to roll upwards, as if defying the laws of gravity. This is actually a visual trick where the landscape creates the illusion that the road is sloping in the opposite direction.

  • Eoseungsaengak Trail -
Eoseungsaengak (Eoseungsaeng Volcanic Cone), a secondary cone of Hallasan Mountain, offers a hiking path starting from the Eorimok area of Hallasan Mountain National Park. To access it, one must travel the 1100 Road from Cheonwangsa Temple towards Seogwipo. The round trip from Eorimok to the summit of Eoseungsaengak Peak is roughly an hour. The path is constructed with wooden log steps and boardwalks to protect the mountain’s soil. At the trail’s entrance, visitors are greeted by a sign indicating “Eoseungsaengak Hiking Trail”. The name Eoseungsaeng is derived from a phrase meaning “the place where the king’s horse soars”, and is associated with a fascinating tale. A story tells of a royal official who was wrongfully charged with treason and exiled. He passed away in this place, his thoughts fixed on the king and the nation, vowing to return as a steed for the king. He remained silent until his death.

  • Cheonjeyeon Falls -
Cheonjeyeonpokpo Falls, with its three cascading levels, is a must-see in Seogwipo. The first tier of the falls is visible only after rainfall, but the second and third tiers flow throughout the year.

  • Daepo Haean Jusangjeolli Cliff -
Jeju Jungmun Resort is not only surrounded by stunning natural landscapes but also offers a variety of entertainment and amenities for both local and international visitors. The Jusangjeolli Cliff, located near the International Convention Center Jeju, presents an impressive display of towering rock columns that line the coastal edge.

Additional Information

One of the highest famous mountains in Korea.
As one of Korea’s 3 spirit mountains, Hallasan Mountain is located on the southernmost part of the Korean Peninsula, and lays claim to the title of South Korea’s tallest mountain with the height of 1,950m above sea level. Home to all sorts of vegetation, the mountain possesses immense scientific value and is a veritable treasure trove of animals and plants, leading to the designation of Hallasan Mountain Natural Reserve as Natural Monument 182 on October 12, 1966. In fall, when everything is blanketed by a colorful display of flowers, the mountain covered with the red color of the fall foliage is truly a sight to behold, while the snow-covered mountain in the winter stands out as the view to surpass all views. A young volcanic mountain from the Quarternary Period of the Cenozoic Era, Hallasan Mountain was believed to have erupted 25,000 years ago,
