An interesting journey in different modes of transport - We did the journey in different transport modes starting with a bus trip in the hop-in and hop-off to the Congress station where the modern funicular Hungerbergbahn took us to Hungerberg. During this spectacular funicular ride we saw the beautiful country side and continuously unfolding skyline finally reaching the Hungerberg cable car station. From this point Seegrubenbahn Cable rail took us over the mountain ridges to the Seegrube station which was about 1905m high from sea level. After exploring the environs, we changed over to Hafelekarbahn Cable rail to reach top of Innsbruck at 2334m high. Thus, cable car journey was in two stages first was to Seegrube and next was to Hafelekar. The return too was through the same services and it was a fantastic experience and we extremely enjoyed the views.

Beautiful views of Innsbruck and the surrounding Alps - The ride up was convenient and fun. At each stop you got a different perspective of the city and mountains. The views from the top were spectacular. And the climate transition from the city was significant with skiers and snow covered mountain tops.

A must when visiting the city - You have to do it. Super beautiful view of the city and the valley. The middle station invites you to take a rest and the view at the top station makes up for it. The prices are moderate.

You must do this if you are in Innsbrucke! - Excellent service, regular cable cars which were clean and well run. Incredible views from the top. You must do this if you’re in Innsbruck! Make sure you find the cafe at the top of innsbruck stop - upstairs from where you get on and off the cable car and not immediately obvious. We had wonderful hot chocolate here after a bracing climb to the top in several feet of snow! The geotrail was not accessible at this time of year due to the snow! We then returned down to seebrugge restaurant for a fab lunch out on the terrace snuggled in blankets they provide. Again quick, excellent service and amazing lunch with a view! Music from cloud9 bar provides atmosphere while you watch the skiers and soak up the view!

Great fun and amazing views! - We booked it last minute. No regret at all. Very easy to get through all these. There is a funicular from the city centre that goes up to the Alpen-zoo, then with the same ticket hop on to a set of two cable car journeys. Brilliant view from the very top. There is a restaurant that provide a selection of hot food and drinks. Can pay with cash or card. Free WiFi too!! Perfect for photo posting!

Wee trip to the top :-) - Top tip if you book tickets through Tripadvisor app - redeem your tickets at the gondola station on the day/time you want to go up, ticket only valid for one trip to the very top. Top station covered on cloud so we chilled out and went up 30mins or so later. Fantastic views. Cafe at top not much on offer, bigger station cafe has more.

Worth it - Very nice trip up the mountain and a spectacular view. The reason I gave it 4 stars is it was not easy to find the starting point where you redeem your online purchase for an actual ticket. Local folks were not helpful & downright rude when asked of directions. We walked around for an hour before we found it. Get a taxi to take you even if hotel clerk says it’s close.

Top of Innsbruck is CLOSED, otherwise great. - The views were phenomenal, but I’m extremely disappointed that when I went, the top was in fact closed. We got to go most of the way up, but did not get the experience we wanted, the whole reason we purchased these tickets to go was to go to the top.

Not upfront - We spoke to a viator agent regarding a full refund of this top of the innsbruck cable ticket. He said we would get our refund back. We told him the top was under maintenance and the weather was cloudy and nothing would be seen. The refund i got was 10% of the total refund. Not a very good experience. They should have informed us it was under maintenance and cancelled the tour themselves instead of us finding out when we got there.
