Our tour guide gave us an amazing look into the history of Savannah. My favorite part was that the tour was centered around the architectural history of the buildings. This gave a unique perspective to the history. The information about the city planning and key historical figures was all interesting and well explained. Some buildings were more interesting to learn about than others, but overall great tour. I wish there was a little more pre-civil war history to touch on slavery in Savannah.
Great tour with a lot of interesting info. Only critique is that the group was pretty large. Otherwise, very enjoyable and would recommend to others
Joe was very informative and it was obvious he was enthusiastic about history!
It was a great tour! I would suggest that the tour be advertised as a tour of the historic squares of Savannah. We didn’t know where the tour was going to be and we had already walked the squares the day before. However, that being said, it was still fantastic.
We realized it’s a historical tour but throwing in some more light hearted stories would have been nice. Only so much history can be taking in Otherwise very informative
The tour was great!!! We really enjoyed learning some of the history behind the city. Our tour guide was Madelyn and she was fantastic & you could tell she was very invested in what she was doing. She provided great history as well as current local info on place to go. Overall we were very satisfied with the experience!!!
Great walking tour. Daniel was very knowledgeable and incorporated the history and architecture of Savannah as part of the tour. Well worth the time spent. We have taken many free walking tours in this country and also throughout Europe and have to say that this is one is definitely worth taking. You will not regret it.
Was hoping for more information about slavery, slave trade and cotton trade.
It was clearly a canned speech. Somewhat superficial. It would have helped to know that it ended at Forsyth because I would have parked there.
Great. Wish it was 2 hours like other free walking tours.
Not sure of the some of the facts offered. E.g horses raised hoofs on monuments. At Gettysburg battlefield National Park that is specifically debunked. Nevertheless, it was a fun and entertaining tour. Thank you!
Thought the tour would be a bit more energetic based on the website
Chris was very engaging and entertaining and told great stories. I’m a history nut and generally would prefer a more history pure type of tour, but, everyone enjoyed over all. Will recommend to friends and family.
Tour guide was good- but have had better.
The guide had a lot of good qualities but was obvious that he is still learning. He'll get there
Madeleine the guide was very good, but the group was too big with 24pers. and the first stop at Johnson Square was too long as it was so cold.
Very thorough information. Well done. Thanks
My sister's and I took this tour with Chris a few years ago and it was amazing, k owledgeable and entertaining. It touched on architecture, war, disease, etc. The best overall tour ever. This one was full of dates and history on the 4 squares. I grew slightly bored with just the facts and dates related to the architecture and squares. It was still enjoyable and we definitely tipped, but I was disappointed my 15 yr old daughter did not get the same experience I did a few years back
Ed talked more about himself than Savannah for the first 20 minutes or so. He did have some good info later and I appreciated his perspective as an architect
The guide offered informative and interesting information about the creation and history of the squares of Savannah, but it was done in a rather middle school field trip manner. His attempt at humor was a bit lame, his creativity a bit flat. I guess I was hoping for a more insightful, more enriched tour. I'm sure the information was historically accurate, just not very entertaining.
Ed was very knowledgeable about the history of Savannah. He was entertaining and educational.
I was impressed with the knowledge of history of Savanna that our guide had. Good walking pace for everyone.
The was very informative and a great learning experience. This is my first visit to Savannah and I have to say that I could see myself living here.
Overall it was fine. The tour guide seemed to 'drift' from the topics and go off on some tangents, unrelated to Savannah Historic Tour. He was quote knowledgeable, but we would have like a little more Detail given our time with him.
A little too much time to get started. The rest of the tour was very informative, interesting and colorfully presented by Chuck
