Magical day of Guatemalan culture on the Lake - We loved our trip to Lake Atitlán our driver was very knowledgeable, helpful and patient with us while we shopped and stayed longer and still got all our tour highlights done. We are a busy family of five and we loved speeding across the Lake and visiting all the merchants. Quality tour all around.

Amazing and well worth the cost! - Our tour guide, Louis was fabulous and so informative. He taught us and demonstrated how different coffee beans grow. The travel vehicle was comfty. Loved the stop at the weavers, where we learned how cotton is transformed into yarn using natural plants for dye. Overall, fabulous day trip!

This tour is highly recommended if you visit Guatemala! - If you are in Antigua, this should be on your bucket list! The tour started off by being picked up by our Tour Guide, Oscar Calderon. He was prompt and arrived on time. After our introductions we left for an approximately 3 hour drive to Lake Atitlan. Although the drive was long we had an excellent tour by Oscar that the time flew by very fast. Oscar is an extremely intellectual person and gave us the insights of Guatemala history. He spoke perfect English and is extremely very knowledgeable in the Mayan history and culture. As we drove by we given details about the nearby people as the styles of clothing worn by females. Attention to detail was given in this tour. We then stopped off at a nearby restaurant place called Katok Ingreso. This place reminded me of a place in the mountains and had a rustic feel. Traditional dress was worn by the females inside and the place had a very good mountainous feel to it. The restaurant was very clean and the food looked amazing. However, it was a pit stop and we continued with our adventure to the lake. On the way we made another stop at an aerial view where we could see an additional view of the lake. Thereafter, we made our final visit to the lake where we took a boat to San Juan. From there we visited several stops at nearby vendors and highlights of the area. We went to a place where they showed us how the people there make handmade scarfs and other items by hand. Afterwards, we learned how to make chocolate as well as primitive medicine from descendants of the Mayan people. This trip did not disappoint as we were constantly involved as Oscar shared his expertise on the Mayan culture and how it has evolved into the future of Guatemala. Thereafter, we took a boat back to where we had an excellent lunch and then back to Antigua. Overall, if you want to experience a memorable tour, I highly recommend this company and definitely recommend Oscar Calderon as your guide. He is very personable and your tour will end with a truly remarkable experience!

Mayan Culture & History Tour! - My husband and I really enjoyed this tour with Oscar Calderon. He is full of knowledge and really loves the Mayan culture. We loved that he kept giving us history on the Mayan culture along the way, so it made the ride to and from Lake Atitlan short. He took us to shops where we learned about chocolate making, natural medicine, and the weaving process. We ate a nice lunch at a good restaurant in Panajachel too! I highly recommend this tour!

A fun day trip from Antigua! - My friend and I booked this trip since we wanted to do a day trip from Antigua. The pickup/drop off service was excellent. There were 5 other people in our group which was nice, not too crowded. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was nice and tried to be as accommodating as possible, even personalizing the trip based on our preference (spending more time at one place vs others). I think the only thing that could be improved is the time we spent at panjachel. we went through four different cultural learning/experiences (weaving, chocolate making, honey, and coffee making). these could have been made a bit better or scrapped completely. The demonstrations were very rushed it was more of an opportunity for us to shop, we probably could have done that on our own if we got the time to explore the island a bit more. Overall an excellent day trip! :)

Don’t do it!!! The reviews we read before booking aren’t real - This was a wasted day filled with being rushed, miscommunication and ending having to walk back to our hotel. The trip made several stops at stores non related to the promised schedule. Once we arrived at the destination we were told where we had to eat. The guide seemed frustrated when people asked to have lunch at a different location. The van ride was cramped. We didn’t make the all the promised stops. We explained that we were getting picked up and dropped off at different locations which we were told was no problem BEFORE we booked. There was a delay getting back because this was not explained to the driver which lead to several arguments between drivers and the guide. The drivers complained and had several “non complimentary” phases said in Spanish as he dropped us off at the wrong location. We decided to just get out and walk to avoid escalating the situation even further. I’m pretty sure I won’t have the first bad review. Everyone piled in that van was pretty unhappy. 0-10 I don’t recommend. Seems like we were all “juked” by the reviews we read before booking. I understand people have bad days and I’ve never done a negative review before but this whole situation was beyond pathetic
