Additional Information

Any lover of history should take the time to explore Wolf’s Lair, a vast bunker complex set in the scenic region of Masuria, characterised by its forested landscapes and beautiful lakes.

This covert multilevel bunker system out of plain sight, bore witness to significant events of World War II.

In spite of the damage suffered during the German withdrawal in January 1945, Wolf’s Lair continues to command awe with its massive concrete fortifications spread over a large expanse, indicative of the military might of Nazi Germany. Residing here was not just Hitler, but many of the Third Reich’s high ranking officials like Goering, Bormann, Keitel and Jodl, further cementing Wolf’s Lair’s importance.

As we make our return, we will make a stop at one of three locations: Mamerki, home to more historical bunkers, a medieval castle, or a beautifully designed baroque church with stunning interiors. The decision is yours to make!

Do this tour with Marcin, the best guide! - I highly recommend this tour, and absolutely ask for Marcin as your guide, first of all he is a great driver, we had an eight hours car drive and I always felt safe, he is a very nice guy with a great knowledge of history, ve visited the Wolf’s lair and he told me everything about it in a very good way, I studied history at the university so I can understand if someone knows thing or not, and clearly he is very expert! We had a good lunch in a restaurant chosen by him, the whole tour was fabulous thanks to him!

Wolf's Lair tour - Our trip to Wolf's Lair with Marcin was excellent. He was very knowledgeable (with a background in history including US history) and also friendly and conversational. We talked about all topics on the trip to and from Warsaw, from personal to Polish, including Polish rock music. He was also able to find a spot that could accommodate our vegan needs, as we stopped at a Polish restaurant on the way back. The actual Wolf's Lair tour went very well, as Marcin could explain and highlight key points, answer any questions we had, and help us see through the ruins to how things would have been and key design decisions that were made in the construction of the site. The pacing was also good, not rushed in any way, and we had time to enter certain ruins. Overall, the visit to Wolf's Lair added perspective to our understanding of World War 2, and was a good complement to our later visit to Auschwitz. Just a note on the site - there is a visitor center with a gift shop and toilets, and food options if needed. Also, having a pocket umbrella and poncho would be recommended in case of rain.

Wolf’s Lair Private Day Trip from Warsaw and Stop at Swieta Lipka Sanctuary - The Wolf's Lair is a must for WWII history buffs. Marcin, our guide was very knowledgeable and very friendly; he wanted to share Polish history with you. All of our questions were answered. His English was excellent. It was a quite a drive from Warsaw but thanks to Marcin the time passed quite quickly. Marcin discussions about Poland present and past history kept us interested. On the way back, Marcin took us for a traditional Polish meal. I would highly recommend Marcin and this tour to anybody interested in Polish History.
