Savannah Fried Chicken 101
-Learn recipes traditional to the Low Country region, mastering the skills to recreate the dishes for your next social gathering. -Not every culinary class gives you the right information and skills to help master the recipes when you get home, but this one perfects it. This is the cooking class you want to take if you're main goal is to create a fried chicken dinner for a social gathering
What You Will Do
- Prepare Low Country classics including Shrimp Deviled Eggs, Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Phyllis’ “Long Haul” Coleslaw with Celery Seed Vinaigrette, Quick Braised Collard Greens, Savannah Red Rice, and Buttermilk Pie
- Gain the skills and experience you'll need to recreate each delicious dish at home
- Master recipes for popular dishes in Southern social gatherings and learn about their historical and cultural relevance
- At the end of class, sit down and enjoy the meal you created in the kitchen
- Culinary class with a focus on fried chicken
- Recipes provided for all items prepared in class
- Water and coffee included

Chef Darin was exceptionally knowledgeable and interesting and our dinner was even more delicious than expected!
In order to distill that list into ranking top chefs, we first need to ask ourselves a question: What exactly is a top chef? You would be happy to know we found him, Chef Darin. He is a culinary master very dedicated to excellence and such a delightful personality while he is demonstrating the ease in prepared his low country chicken society. Laura and I (Andre’) took his culinary class and the highlights were the active hands-on (each couple actively involved in the preparation and process) and the culinary tips; ranging from cutting skills to the ambient cooking temperature techniques, and at the end a delicious meal. He was open to discussing options and why he selected those particular ingredients for his menu. High-end chefs when demonstrating a recipe often favor glitzy, fast-food operations, and design their menus based on what’s not affordable and tasty. Chef Darin, a respected chef in his community with a social conscience, is doing the opposite with his cooking classes. Upon my return to Savannah the plan is to spend a day with Chef Darin; In advance, I know this will be another sure-fired culinary experience of a lifetime.
