Michael did an amazing job of presenting accurate history in a fun and funny way. His witticisms were far superior to any jokes we heard while in Boston. This tour was the highlight of our trip.
Michael provided great insight into historical events and people, which helped us focus on the events and perceptive that history provides to us today. Great tour with a great tour guide!
We really enjoyed our tour with Chris! He knows everything about everything! We learned some very interesting facts that we weren’t aware of and we really had a great time seeing all the sights. Chris answered all our questions and Was great at injecting a little humor along with a lot of history.
It was great ti get a tour with accurate historical content, mixed with humour. The tour was not very long in time or distance and would therefore be suitable fir all ages.
Informative, knowledgeable, pleasant, and soliciting and answering questions. What more could one ask.
The presenter was witty and full of history. He made it all come alive and still be fun
Michael was a wonderful and informative teacher/guide! He mixed it up with a bit of humor as well. I appreciate that he didn't 'sugar coat' historical facts and helped us to understand the complexities that existed during the Revolutionary War period. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was that there were really too many people in the group (40+) because it was Labor Day weekend. This made it hard to hear at times. They really should have capped the number of people on the tour. I understand that this was an unusually large group, and not the norm. But there wasn't a very formal method for checking in. I felt like anyone could have joined the group without paying. Perhaps a wristband or something would be helpful to identify that you showed proof of payment. Also, be aware that you are not stopping inside any of the Freedom Trail sites. If you want to see the inside of any of the buildings, you should walk the Trail without a tour.
Very experienced and knowledgeable guide with a bit of humour added.
The history teacher (Michelle) that led our tour was fantastic!!! She was very informative and enthusiastic, which made for a very entertaining tour!
Excellent guide. The history was presented with appropriate detail and humor which maintained the attention of all of my family, including my 11yo grandson. As a history teacher he was able to place the historical details of the time in the perspective of those of us living in the present - a true teacher and lover of his profession.
Michael was the most informative and interesting tour guide we've ever had. He presented facts in such a way to make the tour fun and informative.
My husband and I had the pleasure of going on a tour with Michael Szkolka and enjoyed the experience very much. Michael was the best tour guide, knowledgeable, informative, entertaining, and witty. His history telling sparked such an interest, I intend to sign up for an American history refresher course online. We could have listened to him all day! He is an asset to your company and we would recommend him and this tour to anyone interested in the Freedom Trail in Boston.
Michael Szkolka was excellent! It was one of the best tours we have been on anywhere. Informative, humorous, thought-provoking - you can't ask for better.
We had a great time with Michael. We didn't just want an "act"; we wanted to actually learn something deeper than just the simple description of what we were seeing. Michael provided just that. I also appreciated the smaller group size. We noticed other tours with huge crowds -- maybe a hundred people. That wouldn't be very valuable to us. Our group had fewer than twenty, so we could hear everything and ask questions.
He did a fantastic job and was very accommodating to our temporary disability.
Great tour! Amazing guide!!!
I really enjoyed this tour. Out tour guide was an actual historian and a history teacher at a local college. The tour was informative, entertaining, and funny. Michael answered all of my questions in detail and even joined us for a beer after the tour ended. This tour was one of the highlights of my Boston weekend and I would recommend this tour for anyone
Loved the tour - very insightful and informational. Our character guide was terrific! Loved his knowledge and sense of humor!! Would do it again and again! It is a not-to-be-missed tour!! Really, you Must do this tour!!
Bob was amazing. His knowledge and insight was very much appreciated. We will definitely book a tour again the next time we find ourselves in Boston.
We had a great time on the tour and our guide was super knowledgeable and very nice. We would recommend it to anyone who wants to see Boston and learn a bit of history.
Michael was very knowledgeable and took the time answer any and all questions. I would definitely recommend this tour.
The tour fit with our wish to hear historically correct information in an easily understood format. It was a delightful walk with lots of history, just what we wanted. It was the best tour we took during our visit to Boston. Thoroughly enjoyable.
The guide was very good. He educated us with a little humor. Made the tour more interesting. I like that he didn't have a microphone. Made me pay more attention. Very rude of guides with mics to talk while next to another tours.
The benefit of having a guide who is true student of history was refreshing.
The tour was very educational and informative. Our guide was personable and was able to present facts in a very engaging way. I would highly recommend!
Guide was excellent. In depth about the sites, great with questions!
Chris was an entertaining and interesting guide! He set a good pace, told great stories, oriented us to historical events and periods effectively, invited and answered our questions well (was non-threatening), and even tailored what he was saying to the nationalities and interests of the group.
The tour started on time. The guide told very interesting stories that corrected "myths" about the Boston Tea Party, Paul Rever's Ride etc. Ge was also quite funny! I highly recommend it.
Our guide, Michael Szkolka, was excellent. the way he told the stories they came to life. our entire family all said they would do this tour again
Michael was an awesome guide. We really liked his evidenced based historical perspective and we learned a lot. From, a family from California, two students and one teacher.
Our Guide, Michael Szkolka was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. We really enjoyed his leading of the tour and were pleased with our decision to do this.
Michael Szkolka was my tour guide and he was brilliant. I learnt so much on the trail and he was able to answer all questions.
Great tour with a great tour guide! Michael did an awesome job of telling us real history not just the hokey stories that we've heard growing up about events that have happened. The tours here are done by teachers and historians instead of actors so if you are looking for a small intimate tour setting and willing to walk about a mile then definitely choose this!
The tour guide Michelle was very knowledgeable. A history teacher. Definitely ask for her if you want to take the tour.all the historical facts were really interesting. Would definitely recommend this tour to other tourists. She asked all of our questions and she would ask us some in return. She even engaged our children in the conversation. She seemed very passionate about all the history of the town.we really liked all the places we went on the freedom trail even if it was a walking tour it was at a slow pace. Overall it was a memorable experience.
