DO NOT USE FEE JEE FIVE!!! - DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR!!! IT IS HIGHLY DISORGANIZED AND HAS NO POINT OF RELIABLE CONTACT WHAT SO EVER!! WE NEVER RECEIVED ANY PAPERWORK PACK AS PROMISED (even after contacting them several times) AND HAD TO TRY AND PROVE THAT EVERYTHING HAD BEEN PAID ALL THE WAY BY OURSELVES.. (rather difficult when at sea with no internet at times) THE LIST BELOW DETAILS HONESTLY THE HIGHS AND LOWS OF THIS TOUR & THE 5 ISLANDS THEY BOOK FOR YOU TO DO.. IF YOU WANT TO DO THE YASAWAS PLEASE BOOK THROUGH A TRAVEL AGENT, NOT THIS GROUP OR VIATOR, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE $ FOR THEM SADLY.. (NOTE: THE 1st 3 Islands are not the Yasawas, only the last 2 are) 1ST ISLAND.. FIJI 1. Mainland Fiji - 3 stars Highs (Lovely helpful people, clean, very green, fresh Wahoo & Cassava. Nice food. Great driver services. Air Con is not a given, so check 1st before booking. The island drive to B Waterfall is lovely with a very bumpy last 10kms, which can only be done by 4 wheel drive.. once there, the guides say it's a relatively easy flat walk.. BE WARNED IT IS NOT! In fact its Quite dangerous in places and a trip hazard..with several rivers to cross.. you are told once there that you can hire a horse for $30 to take you there and back.. a bit steep when you've already pre paid to go prior. Very basic village with literally no amenities.  Lows - Too far & remote between some places, Tours are very lacks with paperwork or confirmations. Pick-ups are usually late. Table service is very slow. Seems compulsory to be taken to villages where crafts are way overpriced. 2. Robinson Crusoe Island 🏝 2 stars Highs - Beautiful Island welcome - Great Food and helpful staff - Reasonable drinks. Wonderful authentic dances & singing. Comfortable bures tho very small doors and have to go to outside toilet at night..not always convenient as it rains often in the nights. Nice that they have small coffee tray and jug, but sugar & powered creamer were always damp, making it difficult to use. Lows - *Recommended DAY TRIP ONLY, as they are not set up appropriately for overnight stays. *Too close to mangroves to be called an island. Internet is charged but available in rooms which is handy. *Dirty muddy sea water and too much wood slash from mangroves channels on the beach.. *Toilets 🚻 overloaded and smelly with day trippers using the shared bathrooms and walking into private ones as well as no proper locks. *Swimming pool completely empty and damaged. *Cat lying on eating tables and small puppy barking and snapping at people's legs and hands with sharp teeth, tearing clothing. * Uncomfortable boat to & from Island. *No fridge 3. Beachcomber Island 🏝 3 stars Highs - Stunning Island - Warm welcome, Great Bar, and food. Fantastic beach. Lovely pool . Helpful service. Clean. Has fridge and basic coffee making facilities . Free internet but only accessible at bar/restaurant Lows - Tired small rooms with no air con and lack of ventilation for toilet odors to escape. No privacy from outside rooms looking in. Fan only. Difficult access with sand paths and stairs up to some rooms. Seating in public areas is very low and a bit uncomfortable. 4. Barefoot Kuata. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. 4 stars Highs.. Beautiful Island.. Warm welcome. Great intro information. Good facilities. Wonderful table service and helpful staff.. Use of all beach equipment . Great diving options. Nice snorkeling from the beach ⛱️ Tours available. Private outdoor shower room & toilet. Tastefully decorated large airy rooms in Fiji designs and pretty curtains. Very comfortable beds and luxury pillows. Lows .. Quite a long walk from rooms to bar, pool, and restaurant. Expensive drinks. No air con. Fan only. Free internet but only accessible at Bar/restaurant. Beautiful rustic resort, but sadly, they are continually constructing new bures next to current ones, so quite noisy when trying to relax in the day. Day trippers tend to take all the outdoor furniture seating for themselves. 5. Mantaray Island resort. 3 stars Mantaray Island is beautiful and is a great option on the Yasawa Island groups to visit. You receive a lovely island welcome and cold drink.. and especially thoughtful is the ice cold cloth they offer to cool you down upon arrival. The front beach bar area is great with soft seats and fans.. Ohand one of the few islands that don't have hoards of day trippers arriving to take over everything until 4 pm each day.. The staff are all lovely , especially Wise & and all the wonderful restaurant staff (except the dive staff who act very indifferent to guests unless you're part of a dive group ) The food choices are the best we've had so far as you are given a choice rather than buffet style all the time. A beautiful rustic Eco resort, but once again, like many other Yasawa resorts, sadly, they are continually constructing new bures next to current ones, so it is very noisy when trying to relax in the day. It would be better to construct the bures for 2 weeks and then allow guests for 2 weeks uninterrupted.. and build again in cycles.. as travelers have paid a lot of money to have a peaceful island holiday..Roosters, dogs, birds, etc, are normal, but constant construction is NOT! Also, no swimming pool is so difficult to cool off if you want a break from the ocean. Another important thing to mention is the island set up. 80 % of the bures huts are built on a steeper grade. They are very small & clean in a tree hut style and come with a large ceiling fan to keep cool and lots of windows for ventilation. There are a couple of larger jungle houses up very high by the restaurant. However, we did appreciate all the paths having stone concrete to walk on rather than uneven sand loke many others. But the down sides are..no private bathroom in the bures or coffee making facilities in the room unless you pay for the beachfront rooms. You MUST walk appropriately 100 meters and then climb very steep stairs to a communal long drop toilet.. It is an ingenious idea along with all the seawater 💧 being desalination so the water is safe to drink, but we wouldn't recommend this island to anyone older than a very fit 60, due to the uneven ground and climbs to everything. The shower area is on the flat, but the island is COLD WATER ONLY. The main reception and restaurant are also another 250 steps each way up an even steeper cliff face 🙄 You must do these walks several times a day to eat or pee. So if you are looking for a bit of luxury, maybe try somewhere else. I'm told Volivoli is the place for 5 stars in Fiji as the word RESORT is rather a long shot with the Yasawas unless you're happy to pay $1000 per night, no exaggeration However, if you wish to dive or snorkel, this place has it all 🐠🦈🐟.. teams of tropical fish off the beach (tho currents are often strong & unpredictable so only go out with incoming tides) They do have options for paid reef outings, tho many other resorts offer these for free. However, they do offer Kayaks for free and some other activities. All of the Yasawas have set mealtimes and plans that are paid on arrival at approximately $130 pp each day. We found the food to be really nice, especially given the menu choice rather than most that are buffet style only. All drinks other than water are extra. Oh, and don't forget your BUG SPRAY & Antihistamine creams.. and plasters.
