This journey explores the life of St. Ignatius, tracing his steps from birth to the establishment of the Jesuit order. Highlights include the magnificent

Basilica of Loiola (constructed in the 18th century)

and the birthplace and family home of St. Ignatius (located in Loiola, Azpeitia), the shrine of

La Antigua in Zumarraga (one of the pitstops made by St. Ignatius during his pilgrimage) and the

Sanctuary of Arantzazu (nestled in a breathtakingly beautiful gorge, renovated in the 1950s, and an epitome of modern religious artwork, recognized with multiple global awards).

The tour offers a spiritually enriching day sure to astound both devoted and non-religious visitors with the impressive attractions.
Please note: The La Antigua hermitage is only open on weekends between November 1 and April 16. If a booking is made on a weekday during this period, the tour will proceed to the San Telmo hermitage in Zumaia instead.

Highly Recommend this tour - We had an excellent tour guide, Joao was on time picking us up at the hotel, we had the time we needed at every location. He was very knowledgeable of the area and the towns. This was an amazing religious experience of the Basque country. The rain didn't stopped us from enjoying the tour.

Best tour hands down! - I cannot speak higher of Donostyle Tours. We planned a spur of the moment trip to San Sebastian and had no idea of an itinerary. We took a tour of the Ignitian Way with Donostyle and to our surprise we got two tour guides from Alex and Telmo. They were amazing! We had such a good time with both of them that we wanted to see them the rest of the trip! We booked three more tours because we just enjoyed being with them so much. I was with my brother and elderly parents and they made sure we felt like family. They are absolutely wonderful and make sure to make your stay incredible. I will be back for sure! Ask for Alex and Telmo when you take a tour. All the tours are great so you can't go wrong. Thank you DONOSTYLE TOURS for making our trip so special.

Wonderful experience! - We toured San Telmo, Loyola and Aranzazu. This was an incredible tour. The story of St Ignatius Loyola along with the opportunity to visit the place of his conversion made for a very moving religious experience. Ignatius found God waiting for him in the pages of the books he read while he recovered from his war injuries. Our guide, Josu was great! He was very knowledgeable about all 3 places we visited. He also gave us time for prayer and meditation in the sacred places. We highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to know more about these Basque Christian sites. Thank you to Josu for one of the best tours we’ve ever been on. You won’t be disappointed if you book this tour.
