A Fun Class with Great Food - Had a lot of fun in this cooking class with Cookinn Taiwan. Our group was only 4 people, so a bit more intimate with 1 instructor looking after all of us. The instructor spoke English well, was helpful and professional. For the class we actually made 3 dishes: xiao long bao, boba tea, and a smashed cucumber salad. All the dishes were delicious and easy to make. The provided recipe book at the end was already really nice, having step by step instructions with drawn images of each step. The added photograph to the booklet was a nice touch as well. This was a good class and I would recommend it to anyone looking to learn some cooking while in Taipei.

Delicious Dumplings and Cooking Class @ CookInn Taiwan - Great experience and class in Taipei! Lynn was a great and patient teacher and she made sure to give everyone time and attention and was very clear while teaching. We made xiao long bao soup dumplings (including the dough!) and while we made the cucumber salad side and boba for our tea, they steamed the dumplings for us so we can eat our delicious creations. I’d highly recommend this class, and the other classes at CookInn Taiwan also all looked great. Totally worth it :)

Great class learning to cook dishes from scratch - I took the afternoon Xiao long bao tea time class at CookInn with friends and had an absolutely lovely couple of hours learning to prepare everything from scratch from the wrappers to the filling, and delicious sides of cucumber salad, and bubble tea! We had so much fun and laughed a lot and the food at the end was delicious. I was also impressed with how nice the xiao long bao turned out for us never having folded them before. It was nice that Chelsea and the team printed a photo of each of us and gave us booklets with the recipes so we didn't have to take notes while cooking. Also, we requested a vegetarian menu and class in English and it was easily accommodated. Check it out!

Such a fun, memorable experience! - Thank you so much Maggie for a great class. I have taken other cooking classes in other countries before. Sometimes they are informative in the fact that I will not make it again (macaroons, way too hard). However, I feel confident that I will be able to recreate these recipes at home! 10/10 would recommend. Also the photos and recipe book were a nice bonus!

You make it, you eat it, you'll liove it! - Located literally just off of the ,MRT Green Line Nanjing Fuxing station - exit 3, this is an excellent cooking class. You will learn how to make xiao long bao (soup dumplings), Taiwanese smashed cucumber salad, and bubble milk tea. The beauty is in the actual making these yourself, learning some inside tips of how to do it better, and then getting to eat what you made - delicious! But the real joy is that you don't have to clean up - just place the used utensils/cookware on the other table and it magically gets cleaned for you; try that at home! I learned that the Din Tai Fung precision of 18 pleats on every one of their soup dumplings is quite challenging, and that their prep staff probably would have made at least a dozen dumplings in the time that I took to make just one. But I also learned that I could still make ones that didn't open up while steaming and still tasted awesome after being cooked. I learned that the smashed cucumber salad is something so simple and fun to make, yet so tasty as a nice appetizer/side dish. There's a secret step that amps up the flavor! I learned that making bubble milk tea involves a cocktail shaker, that it's possible to make bubble tea thats not too sweet, and the difference between boba and pearls. Also the beauty of a steel straw. A very yummy beverage! My instructor Maggie was excellent, and fluent in English; you can sign up for either English or Mandarin versions of this cooking class. She took great care of us students in guiding our preparations, taking photos throughout the class, offering fun tips and stories, serving the final cooked food items, and ensuring we all had a great time. We were even served a special dessert treat, prepared by another chef who happened to be there testing a recipe. To cap things off, you get a nice recipe book with your photo on the front cover, plus later that evening a link to all the photos your instructor was taking of you during the class. An excellent touch. A variety of cooking classes to choose from; I highly recommend a CookInn Taiwan cooking class!
