Not to be missed! Angel, our guide, was phenomenal! - Our trip to Colca Canyon was fantastic! We had been debating whether or not to do this given the early morning start (3am) but even before we got to Condor Cross my husband and I agreed the trip had already been worth it. The view across the mountains and valleys are just spectacular and breathtaking. Our guide was Angel and he was amazing - so knowledgeable, his English was brilliant and he was able to answer every question. I could not recommend him enough! He was the perfect guide. We were super lucky to see the Condors (~25) soaring above us, as well as alpacas, llama and vicuñas. It’s a long day but totally worth it!!!

Colca Canyon one day tour. - The Colca Canyon one day tour is great! It is a long day, but the only way we could see the Canyon in our short time in Arequipa. Nelson, our guide, and Juan Carlo, our driver, were friendly, helpful and informative. The Colca Canyon is beautiful and the condors impressive. Bring medication for motion sickness if you are susceptible. But don’t miss the opportunity to see the Colca Canyon!

Glad I didn't skip this - Only had time for one day tour so booked this online with Peru Baby Lama. Included 2 very good meals for $38, not sure what hostel people paid. Delay on pickup but slept comfortably on van ride to breakfast. Stopped at a village and top of canyon. The canyon was beautiful and full of inca terraces. Saw about 7 condors, nice photos then kayaked at bottom of canyon for 30 soles.

Excellent day trip - Very great with Angel, quite tired at the end, but it was worth it! Angel is a very good guide, with so much energy and knowledge, I fully recommend. I was also glad our driver drives safely, with ~8h in the mini bus, it’s better. Avoid cocktails if you get altitude sick :) Bonus : we saw many condors !!

Not for English speakers - The Colca is worth a visit, but this tour is not for English-speaking tourists. We were the two English-speaking tourists in a group of nineteen. The guide provided lengthy explanations in Spanish, including responding to questions asked in Spanish. The English translations were brief and left us wondering what we were missing. Requests near the beginning of the tour for fuller translations did not help.
