  • This tour is not recommended for young children: The Wildlife Tour is typically geared more towards adults, providing educational commentary along the way. While wildlife sightings are frequent, the experience differs significantly from a zoo visit. Due to the unpredictable nature of wild animals, sightings occur intermittently during the 3-hour tour and vary from day to day. Based on our observations, young children often become restless as there are no scheduled stops on this vehicle-based tour. Therefore, we recommend a minimum age of 5 years. Although not recommended, children and infants under 5 years old are welcome, provided a seat is purchased for them at the child rate (all passengers regardless of age are required to be allocated a seat on the bus). For those bringing infants, we recommend bringing a baby carrier which can be secured with the provided seat belts on our buses.

Excellent wildlife tour with great guide - I booked an early morning wildlife tour online from the UK prior to coming out to Canada for our road trip around the Rockies. Booking was incredibly easy and straightforward and I received updates by email as the planned trip approached. We were due to be collected from our hotel at 8.30am and the tour minibus arrived spot on time. Our guide and driver Sam was fantastic. Incredibly knowledgeable, engaging and interesting. He took us to some locations we have never visited around Jasper before and found a huge variety of wildlife. If there wasn’t a particular animal in a particular place as he expected, Sam gave us tips as to when would be the best time to see them and where so we could re-visit later. We did this and were successful in seeing a pair of grizzly bears. We would highly recommend booking with Maligne.

Family fun - Amazing experience for the whole family. Our young children (5 and 8) weren’t always entertained by the driving from spot to spot, but loved seeing all the animals. Massive Elk, Bears, bald eagles, osprey, white tailed deer with fauns were all seen. Most of the routes we had driven already heading to hikes, but our guide Chloe was amazing to point out animals like the eagles and bear which we would have otherwise missed. She knew where to wait at all the right spots! Didn’t get time to see Moose, as we spent a bit too much time taking pics of the bears and the massive male elk, but still totally worth it! Also a great idea if you have an overcast/rainy day and need an activity which is what we did!

Great experience - Great tour. Didn't see any bears, but our tour guide Sam was so knowledgeable, friendly and helpful! We did see some gorgeous Elk males, an Osprey and a Bald Eagle. Sam taught us so much about the wildlife and environment of Jasper. Truly a great experience. We drove part of the rout the next day, and see, Sam? We caught this hoary marmot eating! They do do it, just not when you are watching ;)

A must for anyone visiting Jasper. - What a great way to spend a morning! We booked through Maligne tours as we had very little time in Jasper and we wanted to see as much as we could. The company did not disappoint! Our guide, Sam, took us to some really cool locations which were off the beaten track. He was absolutely fantastic and is obviously really knowledgable and passionate about what he does, he used the short time available to share his knowledge of both the flora and fauna of Jasper as well as some history of the area which left us all feeling a lot more educated. The tour itself was awesome, we managed to see some massive elk as well as a bald eagle and an osprey. All in all it was a great morning and one that I would recommend to anyone visiting the area! Thanks again Sam!

Enjoyable tour - Seeing a “king” elk with a massive head rack was awesome. Our guide Sam was very knowledgeable about the area wildlife. Wish the tour started earlier. By the time all the pickups were made it was a bit late for an advertised 8:30 am tour start. Finished after 12 noon.

Not the wildlife tour we expected - Very touristic. Not worth the money. The guide was motivated but the tour simply started too late for a morning wildlife tour.

no refund - I canceled it 2 days prior because I double booked tour at same time so it didn’t go through and I was charged for it anyway!

To Avoid - Terrible experience. A real tourist trap. The bus driver took the main road from Jasper to Maligne Lake. We saw two deer (very common, we had also seen them the previous days on the roadside) and a family of marmots (even those that were easily spotted). But the truly incredible thing is that the driver showed us a spot on the lawn (it seems to be on the side of the road) where the grass was flattened, claiming that a bear had passed there and he started acting like a bear himself! The bear eating berries. We can only call it a scam. I believed that Canadians were a serious people. - Bad experience. A real tourist trap.
