  • Cementerio de la Recoleta - Over 6,400 statues, sarcophagi, coffins and crypts commemorate some of Argentina’s most celebrated sons and daughters, not least Eva “Evita” Perón, in this labyrinthine city of the dead.

It is an eerily beautiful place, with shadowed walkways and towering marble mausoleums rich in Art Deco, Art Nouveau, baroque and neo-gothic architectural styles, Masonic symbols and powerful religious iconography. Over 90 of its tombs are listed as national historical monuments. The most visited tomb is the one of Eva Perón.

A thorough walking introduction to the city - Starting with the cafe where we met, getting oriented to the highlights of Recoleta, the bookstore in a beautifully restored theater, learning about mate, the major buildings and sites around the central plaza and ending at Puerto Madero, Patricia gave us a thorough introduction to the center of Bueno Aires. Altogether a wonderful walking tour! Highly recommended, especially if you enjoy walking in interesting places and are comfortable covering some ground.

Great tour! - I had the privilege of having a tour for myself, as Daniela was kind enough to do the tour even though I was the only one signed up. She is very knowledgeable about the city and Argentina's history, and also gave me tips of things to do and places to go while on my trip. It was greatly appreciated and I really recommend doing the tour, it really gives a great idea of the main sights of the city and the history of Buenos Aires.

Excellent coverage of Buenos Aires highlights - This was our second tour with Sailing BA and it was fabulous. The walking tour lasted three hours, starting in Recoleta and ending in Puerto Madero, where we decided to stay for dinner. Our guide, Daniela, was very informative and knew lots of Argentinian history/sites which is always a good sign for a professional tour guide. She answered all our questions and made sure that we were comfortable. I would recommend this tour for anyone. A great way to get your trip to BA started for sure.

Absolutely fabulous - After 10 years of traveling the world, the "Highlights of Buenos Aires 3-hour Walking Tour with Small Group" was easily among my favourite tours. Our guide Emiliano made our afternoon not only enjoyable, but interesting, by teaching us about some local customs and facilitating a social atmosphere with the other people in our group. We highly recommend this experience.

Take a walk through history and culture of Buenos Aires - We were three friends who went for this walking tour. We decided to have this tour as opposed to the regular city tour by bus so we'd feel like just having sort of a local friend-host who's just showing us around and no pressure of keeping pace with a bigger group. We were relaxed while Daniela talked us through Argentina´s history and culture. Thanks Daniela for being patient with us with our delays and stops, breaks for our photo shoots, and several questions that day. We had a wonderful time!

AWESOME walking tour! - I´ve done a few tours in Buenos Aires and definitely this one my favourite: just the perfect amount of time and attractions to cover. We started in Recoleta Cemetery, which actually I was not sure if I would like to go our not, but I loved it. It is a very interesting place to discover the history of Argentina and Evita´s mausoleum. Then the bookstore was a great stop, I was not expecting much but it was one of the highights. We even took a metro ride, something I would not have done on my own. Arriving at the city center, May Square was well worth the visit with a guide, as I went before on my own but I did not learn anything, you should go with a local to really understand the importance of the place. At the end, Puerto Madero was relaxing and a great place to grab a relaxing drink. I WOULD RECCOMEND! Thanks for everything!!!! (Our guide was Daniela and she was very enthusiastic, knowleadgeable and helpful. Her English was perfect.)
