Highlights
  • Athens - Pick up
  • Ancient Corinth (Archaia Korinthos) - Moving on we will continue to Ancient Corinth. The city dominated by the hill of Acrocorinth. The site located at the foot of the hill includes the Roman Agora of Corinth, the temple of god Apollo and a small museum. Apart from its archaeological and historical interest Ancient Corinth is also one of the most popular religious destinations in Greece as this was where the Apostle Paul preached Christianity, was judged by the tribunal in the Agora and established the best organized Christian church of that period.
  • Temple of Apollo - The temple of Apollo at Corinth is one of the earliest Doric temples in the Peloponnese and the Greek mainland. Built around 560 B.C.E., of local monolithic limestone on top of an imposing, rocky hill to the north of Acrocorinth, the Archaic temple was an emblem for the Greek city of Corinth, reflecting its growth and prosperity.
  • Akrokorinthos - We will visit the castle of Acrocorinth, the oldest and largest castle in southern Greece, for some amazing photos.
  • Ancient Nemea - After the visit to the site, we will head towards one of the Nemean wineries. Driving through the grape yards of the largest wine production zone in Greece, we will visit one of the best wineries. People will gladly give you a small tour showing you the grape yards, the storage barrels, explaining you the procedure that takes place until the bottling. In the end, you will be offered to taste some of their best varieties while having a view of the Nemean Valley.
  • Ktima Bairaktaris - After the visit to the site, we will head towards one of the Nemean wineries. Driving through the grape yards of the largest wine production zone in Greece, we will visit one of the best wineries. People will gladly give you a small tour showing you the grape yards, the storage barrels, explaining you the procedure that takes place until the bottling. • Archaeological Museum of Nemea - Archaeological site and Museum of Nemea shows you interesting things about the Nemean Pan Hellenic Games.
  • Nafplio - Lastly, we will drive towards the city of Nafplio for our last stop, considered the most scenic city, it functioned as the capital of Greece until 1834.
  • Akronafplia Fortress - After walking in the idyllic old city we will stop for lunch at a traditional tavern by the sea, and drive up to the castle of Acronafplia for a panoramic view of Nafplio.
  • Bourtzi - Nafplio offers you an outstanding combination of fortresses and castles (Palamidi), Bourtzi, a huge port opened to the Aegean Sea and the unique architecture of the old city of Nafplion revealing Venetian, neoclassical and oriental elements.
  • Athens - Then we will start for our way back following the eastern coast of Peloponnese peninsula to reach Athens again.
  • Corinth Canal - The tour starts with a drive along the coast, on the way you will view some Greek seaside villages and the island of Salamis (where the historical naval battle took place between the Athenians and the Persians).
Our first stop the Corinth Canal. Opened in 1892 separating the Peloponnese peninsula from the rest of Greece and connecting the Saronic Gulf to the Corinthian Sea. You will have time to walk across on a pedestrian bridge to admire the canal closer.

Great Tour - The tour was very informative and interesting. We had a great day learning about Ancient Corinth and the wine region with Christos. I would definitely use Olive Sea again for another tour.

Corinth and Nemea tour - This the second time we have had Alexander for a tour, and he was great to be with again. Couldn't do enough for us. We wanted to change part of the itinerary and he made sure that happened. Very knowledgeable and fun to be with. Would recommend this tour...

Unique Experience - The wine tasting tour was one of the most unique trips that I had. I am glad that it was part of the tour and Alexander, our tour guide, made sure that he I had a good time. Along the way, he talks about greek mythology and I learned so much about him. He is the best tour guide and the company must be very lucky to have him because he does his job very well. He answered all my questions to the best of his knowledge. The location is roughly a 2 hour trip from the city of Athens and the route to Nemea and Napflion was very picturesque. Alexander made sure I get the best spot to take pictures and he even offer to take my photos. It’s a nice part of the town and you will enjoy the view and the activity. Nemea has nice wines that everyone must try. I recommend to tourist like me to also include this into your itinerary.

Excellent Tour - A wonderful tour - ancient Corinth and Nafplio were even better than I had hoped and ancient Nemea was absolutely fascinating. The wine tasting was excellent, we learned so much including how good the modern style of Greek wine is. Even the journey itself was great as we enjoyed the beautiful countryside. Dimitra was our guide and I use that word carefully. I am a bit if a history buff and I found his knowledge to be deep and he shared it enthusiastically and for me this made a great tour perfect. Communications and flexibility were perfect. Thanks Dim - you left us with some very happy memories :-)

Perfect Day Trip - Tas was an excellent guide showing us the Corinth Canal, Zues and Apollo ruins, then off to a scenic winery for a tasting and tapas. Afterwards, we went to Nafplion for lunch. This was an excellent private tour we would recommend to anyone.

Excellent tour!! - This was a last minute decision to get out of Athens for an all day tour. What a great decision!! Joanna was our tour guide and we highly recommend her. Visiting Acrocorinth and wine country tour were just what we needed after being in Athens for a couple of days. Nemea and the ancient stadium were highlights as was our last stop in the picturesque seaside village of Nafplio. If you have a day to fill and want to see the countryside, then this is a great choice.

A Day Drive - A “lovely” day with a nice driver outside of Athens. However, reading description & brief emails with travel company prior to booking….not as expected & too much “on your own” time. Travel out of Athens is calm, driver did share general info about region. But this is more of a day with a nice driver & limited/no guiding . Canal stop & historical sites are reading signage & not real discussions. Apollo Temple & Museum on your own is interesting, but you need to prepare in advance to get the depth & significance. (I turned down visiting another archaeological site) Wine country visit is one winery, although good, included a brief tour and several tastes. Asking to stop to potentially find other wine or olive oil stops, potential “up charges” and not possible. I would call this more of a drive & not a tour.
