As you unwind on this serene excursion, you’ll be treated to stunning vistas of the Saronic Gulf and pass by some of Athens’ most picturesque suburbs, including the Hellinikon Olympic complex, Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, and Varkiza. Upon reaching Cape Sounion, you’ll explore the Temple of Poseidon, dating back to the 5th century B.C., which offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Aegean Sea (on a clear day, you can spot up to seven islands). Cape Sounion has been significant in Greek mythology and history, with its earliest mention in Homer’s Odyssey as the final safe stop before Poseidon wreaked havoc on the Greek fleet returning home. Poseidon, the god of the sea, held immense importance for the ancient Greeks, and the grandeur of his temple at Cape Sounion is a testament to that. After soaking in the beauty, history, and culture of the temple, we’ll pause to witness one of the most spectacular sunsets imaginable.

Nice Tour - Our guide was lovely and helpful. (She is studying archeology). The bus was very comfortable. No one could control the weather. It was grey and raining. Still, a nice trip out of Athens.

Great place to watch the sunset! - This was a great choice for a half day trip! The bus ride is quick and offers lovely views of the coast all along the way. Our tour guide Melissa (I think she said Melisantha?) spoke eloquently and was very informative along the way.
We had plenty of time to walk all along the trail around the temple. It was a very windy evening, but the views were stunning. Well worth it for this affordable tour.

Great guide and driver - Unfortunately the most memorable thing about this trip was that we did not get to see the amazing sunset like we did a couple years ago. I know you cannot control the weather only God can do that. The tour guide was very good as was the driver.

Amazing sunset - The views and the sunset are amazing......lots of photo ops along the way.....the bus ride was a little long but so worth it.......sit on the right side of the bus for ocean views

Beautiful but lots of travel - The view itself was amazing, with a stunning sunset and views from the temple. However, we left late, and out of the entire 4-5 hour event we were only at the temple for 45 minutes, and the rest was travel/traffic/waiting to begin travel.

Needs improvement - The tour guide was very polite but could not understand what she was talking about most of the time. Her English needs improvement. Perhaps the tour might include drinking water. I was understanding that no food and drink allowed on bus ride but people had it anyway. I could overlook all of that except that she should have had a sign of some kind to alert us when we exited the site like the other tour guides . Customer care needs improvement. I will not book a tour bus tour like this again

Very disappointed! - What we got was a bus ride to and from the Poseidon location and the ticket to the destination wasn't even included. There was no guide at all. We were very disappointed!!!
