March cruise J&D - satisfied! - Everything was organized as mentioned in the itinerary. Boat driver was friendly, young people that were serving pizza, drinks and ice-cream were very pleasant and fast. There was enough drink for everyone (alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks). The weather in Amsterdam, in March, is risky.. since it could be a lot of rain, but our trip was very lucky with the weather, too.

Would recommend for an evening out - We did this cruise on our first night in Amsterdam. The staff were very friendly and the captain was very entertaining. Although the cruise wasn't very informative (we weren't expecting a history lesson) it did give us a good idea of the vibes of the city in general. The pizza was decent although it went cold quite quickly, the drinks on offer were a good range and the ice cream at the end was a nice bonus! 4* as a little pricey but would most likely do this again next time we're in the city.

Nice to see the sights at night - Very comfy boat with good viewing. Price was very affordable. Staff were polite and did their best to feed people on a boat. Drinks provided were great. Pizza was a let down as it was a touch short on toppings. Difficult to understand the commentary.

Nice canal cruise - Lovely cruise with pizza, ice cream & drinks. The boat could have been better organised with working toilets and sufficient glassware & cutlery. Would recommend

Not worth the money - The Pizza was cold and tasteless, with no flavour. Cruise was ok but wasn’t helped by being sat by a pillar. didn’t feel like it was worth the money.

Maybe an experience to avoid - That this trip was ultimately spoiled by a party of six loud mouthed Americans is hardly the fault of “Lovers”. That the pizza was spoiled by being almost cold to a point of dry torpor, that Femke was incapable of achieving any eye contact with customers, that the other server (Samantha ?) appeared disinterested in paying any interest to any other than the loud mouthed party or other cruise personnel and that no one appeared capable of taking any ask without immediately forgetting the same, is! Oddly when the request for tips was announced was the first time that either server seemed interested in asking customers for any needs. By the way the captain seemed nice but I am sorry that I wasted my money on this nonsense.

Avoid!!! - There is a small bucket containing 2 bottles of beer and a few soft drinks on your table when you board the boat. Ration these as it may be the only drinks you get whilst on board. Before the pizzas are brought on board the 2 members of staff approach a few tables and take a drinks order but they don’t go to all tables and ignore you when you attempt to get their attention. The pizzas coke on board and are served from the back of the boat to the front. Pizzas are taken from their boxes and plated, extremely slowly, then served by the staff. Molasses is faster than the two on shift Saturday 20th April. They stand about and talk amongst themselves while the pizzas get colder and the customers on board get thirsty and hungry. We were the first table and were served last. Our pizzas were stone cold by the time we were served and it was hard to separate the slices as the cheese had solidified and it was basically a frisbee by that stage. Completely inedible. Really disappointing as this had been booked as part of my fiancés birthday celebrations whilst in Amsterdam but we couldn’t wait to get off the boat. Would never consider using Lovers cruises again. Save yourself the bother of this excruciating “cruise” and book with another company. Waste of time and money.

Would not recommend. - The trip started with 3 drinks on a table booked for 5 - 2 beers and one Coke. For 2 adults and 3 kids that was not going to cut it. The waiting staff were very reluctant to give us Cokes for the 2 other kids. My husband basically had to get them himself. The pizza was cold and frankly awful. I booked this tour based on previous reviews that said the live commentary was great. This trip had an audio commentary that we had to ask for the headphones for half way though when it became apparent that none were going to be forthcoming. There was no water or soap in the toilet. On an average cruise lasting the same amount of time this might not be an issue but on one with children (ours were not the only ones) also serving food and drink this is not acceptable. I have made many trips to Amsterdam and done other canal cruises and this is the first time I have felt exploited as a tourist. My husband did speak to one of the ticket reps after but was basically just told to send an email to head office. 0/10 would not recommend.
