It is about 03 hours and a half, one way driving from Aswan to Abu Simbel. The two Temples of Abu Simbel, with their unique style, are considered to be the masterpieces of ancient Egypt. They reflect the glory and grandeur of the new Kingdom. The Egyptian government and UNESCO decided to co-operate in order to save these temples from the flood. The Temple of Ramsses II was dedicated to the four universal gods Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re, and to Ramsses II himself. The great Abu Simbel temple is also called The Sun Temple of Ramesses II. The Temple of Queen Nefertari is also Called the Temple of Hathor who was the wife of the Sun God so in a symbolic way, the two Temples, that of Ramsses II and that of Nefertari, bring Ramesses II, Nefertari, Hathor, and the Sun God together as one. Amazing Adventures in Abu Simbel with Mustafa - My Fiance and I loved every minute of our magical trip to the Temples of Ramses ll and his wife, Nefertari. Mustafa, our very own egyptologist, was like an Egyptian Indiana Jones! He made us feel like we were family and went above and beyond to make our experience one that we will cherish forever! He was passionate and was happy a wealth of knowledge with us! Before entering the Temples Mustafa even took the time to show us how to decipher what we'd see on the temple walls! The temples are extraordinary and and we had plenty of time to explore every detail and really soak in this incredible experience! CAN'T WAIT to tour with them again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Learning a lot in a fun way - Our guide was very knowledgeable and fun. He also had the patience to deal with the 6 of us all of whom had different level of knowledge and interests. He taught my youngest how to read the hieroglyphs and the more common symbols. He laughed at my stupid jokes and related on a personal level with each one of us. If we go again we will go with Mustafa Magde.
